Food in college can be mundane, especially when you frequent campus cafeterias. But college food doesn’t have to be boring and routine. With a little creativity and some small appliances, you can make some awesome grub. All you need is a microwave, panini maker, waffle iron, toaster oven, coffee maker and/or iron and within minutes, you can feast on some of your favorite foods.

Toaster oven hard-boiled eggs
Ingredients:
3-5 eggs
Bowl of ice water
Instructions:
Put 3-5 eggs in a toaster oven, parallel to the rack (to avoid rolling). Bake for about 30 minutes. Immediately take out and put in ice-cold water for 15 minutes. Peel and enjoy.

Coffee burner waffles
Ingredients:
Frozen waffles
Butter
Syrup
Instructions:
Thaw waffles. Cover coffee burner with foil and place waffle on foil. Place a pan or bowl over waffle. Flip every 2-3 minutes on each side until waffle is thoroughly heated.

Ironed cheese quesadillas
Ingredients:
Tortillas
Shredded cheese
Instructions:
Set iron to cotton setting before starting. Place one tortilla on aluminum foil and add cheese. Place a second tortilla on top and put another sheet of foil over the quesadilla and fold in the sides. Iron each side of quesadilla for 2 minutes.

Ingredients:
1 small can of refrigerated biscuits
Pepperoni
Sliced mozzarella
Instructions:
Pull each biscuit roll apart and stuff with pepperoni and cheese. Place rolls on waffle iron and cook until rolls appear ready.

Mac ‘n’ cheese in a mug
Ingredients:
1/3 cup noodles
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Combine water and noodles in a large mug and heat in microwave for 2 minutes (don’t panic; water may overflow). Stir and repeat 2 to 4 more times. When water is completely absorbed by noodles, add cheese and milk. Stir and microwave for 1 minute. Stir again and enjoy.

Taco in a bag
Ingredients:
1 bag of nacho cheese-flavored tortilla chips
Shredded Mexican cheese
Shredded lettuce
18 oz. container of ground beef
Packet of taco seasoning
Instructions:
Put ground beef in a microwave-safe container with a little bit of water and heat for 2 minutes. Repeat until meat is no longer pink. Mix taco seasoning and beef. Slightly crush bag of chips. Cut bag of chips and pour meat in. Top with cheese and lettuce and mix.

Coffee maker chicken pesto pasta
Ingredients:
Thin chicken breasts
Noodles (ramen or angel hair)
Pesto sauce (bonus: make it from scratch in the coffee grinder)
Instructions:
Put foil down over coffee burner. Cook chicken breasts until done. Cook the noodles in the coffee pot carafe by running water through the machine as you would for coffee. Slice chicken and toss with noodles and pesto.

Simple chocolate mug cake
Ingredients:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp. milk
Instructions: Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder in mug. Stir in milk and oil. Microwave for 70 seconds. Let cool and dig in.

Panini maker ice cream sandwich
Ingredients:
Package of pre-made cookie dough
Ice cream
Sprinkles
Instructions:
Preheat panini maker to medium heat. Place dough on panini maker and cook for 7 to 8 minutes (or until crisp and golden on bottom). Remove cookies and place a scoop of ice cream on one of the cookies. Use another cookie to close down on the ice cream sandwich. Add sprinkles.

Chocolate popcorn balls
Ingredients:
Bag of microwave popcorn
10 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
Butter
Graham cracker cereal (like Golden Grahams)
1 package instant chocolate pudding
Instructions: Heat 3 tbsp. butter and mini marshmallows together in microwave. Add instant pudding and mix. Add cereal and popcorn until marshmallow mix covers all. Using your hands or a spoon, form popcorn balls and place on a sheet of aluminum foil. Let sit for 30 minutes in fridge before eating.
