The event title, “Quince Shorts,” if you are an ignoramus where Spanish is concerned, conjures up some kinda fruity pants. Which we like the sound of. But even better, it’s an evening program of 15 short films, selections from the San Antonio Neighborhood Film Project competition, wherein the auteurs drew inspiration from the Eastside and Westside mural tours. “Quince Shorts” is part of the Guadalupe Cultural Art Center’s Cine en el Barrio series showcasing Latino filmmakers from around the Hispanophonic globe. Dora Peña, Gabriel Luna, Ray Santisteban, and Lennon Maldonado are among the films’ directors. “Cine en el Barrio: Quince Shorts,” $4 for non-members, members attend free, Mon, Sept 27, Guadalupe Theater, 1301 Guadalupe St, (210) 271-3151, guadalupeculturalarts.org
