Stop by the Southwest Workers Union this Saturday, June 9, for a special pre-screening of the documentary "Banned." The film recounts the Librotraficantes' journey from Houston to Tucson (via SA) to deliver books from the TUSD Mexican American Studies program, banned from being taught in public school classrooms in Tucson by the notorious neo-Know Nothing regime tyrannizing the people of Arizona.
The film is by Nac Film Theory, a group of artists based in Nacogdoches. See the March 7, 2012 story in the Current for background, here.
8:30pm Saturday June 9, South West Workers Union, 1416 E Commerce.
$5 donation--or tacos and beer--appreciated.
