Founded in 1993 by the late arts advocate Manuel Castillo along with revered local artists Juan Miguel Ramos and Cruz Ortiz, San Anto Cultural Arts operates the nation’s only full-time, year-round community-based mural/public art program. Annually, SACA honors two individuals “for their contributions to the artistic and cultural vibrancy of San Antonio” at the Huevos Rancheros Breakfast Gala and Silent Art Auction. Celebrating 15 years as an outlet for creative community empowerment, the Westside nonprofit is set to crown local artist and educator Alex Rubio as King Huevo and inaugural San Antonio Poet Laureate Dr. Carmen Tafolla as Queen Huevo at a quinceañera-themed fundraiser with music by Santiago Jimenez Jr. and JJ Lopez and breakfast courtesy of Johnny Hernandez. $0.99-$9,999 (pay what you can); 9am-noon Sat, Oct 6; Plaza Guadalupe, 1327 Guadalupe, (210) 226-7466, sananto.org.
