Formed in 1989, Sun*Day adopted its name from U2’s 1983 political anthem “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” a song the band mastered early on and frequently closed shows with. Made up of “four Mexicans from the Southside” (vocalist Rikko, guitarist Eddie Hernadez, bassist Rick Rios, and drummer Juan Ramos), Sun*Day toured extensively in the ’90s, released four albums, and narrowly missed an Atlantic Records deal before disbanding around the turn of the new century. On Thursday, Papa Woody's hosts the next best thing to a good ole' Thanksgiving Sun*Day reunion: a tribute concert featuring performances by Breaking Boundryz, Charlie Bravo, I Am Dutchess, Last We Fall, and the Sun*Day tribute band Trans*Figuration. $6; 8pm-midnight Thu, Nov 22; Papa Woody's Roadhouse, 8902 S Presa, (210) 534-6000, papawoodysroadhouse.com.
