The City of San Antonio Center City Development Office’s latest placemaking initiative brings Dallas-based Team Better Block back to town to transform Plaza de Armas and West Commerce as a “complete street” offering running and biking activities, live music by Sarah Centeno, live painting by artist Joshua Perez, pop-up shops from Revolucion Coffee + Juice and Lucy’s Doggie Daycare & Spa, and a holiday market showcasing a variety of vendors from each city council district. Throughout the day, guests can learn about VIA’s Primo Bus, the San Pedro Creek Restoration Project, and the San Antonio B-Cycle program, or pop over to the Vistana (100 N Santa Rosa) for a yoga class (11-11:45am) and an Argentine tango lesson (1-2pm). The 26th Annual Blessing of the Animals happens concurrently in Market Square (noon), so bring a four-legged friend. Free; 10am-3pm Sat, Dec 8; Plaza de Armas and W Commerce between Flores and Santa Rosa; betterblock.org. Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here: calendar.sacurrent.com.
