Whip crackin’, gun slingin’, and lasso spinin’ collide with improv comedy, shadow puppetry, and musical melodrama in The Yippee-Ki-Yay Cabaret, a troupe comprised of New Old Time Chautauqua alums Clay Mazin’, Vanessa Vortex, and Jasper Patterson. Combining the eclectic talents of Mazin’ (a multi-instrumentalist), Vortex (a hula-hooping, trumpet-playing circus cowgirl), and Patterson (a theater director who’s traveled the world in the Flying Karamazov Brothers), the cabaret’s touring show employs original live music and interactive vaudevillian antics to illustrate “the mythic legend of a heartbroken town torn by danger.” Audience members are invited to “cheer, boo, sigh, and become a part of the action” when the trio performs at Boneshakers with support from the Marco Cholo Jazz 5 and Zombie Bazaar. $5; 9pm Thu, Feb 7; Boneshakers Tap House and Pizzeria, 306 Austin, (210) 269-5119, boneshakers.com.
