It’s that time of the year again when Sam’s Burger Joint hosts the Riff House Concerts that capture the intimacy of the invitation-only shows held at Tim and Candyce Slusher’s home. This year boasts an impressive lineup of artists who have performed at Riff House at one time or another. Among them, Pop Pistol needs no introduction — ambient soundscapes a la Pink Floyd and lullaby melodies that culminate into bombastic crescendos that mix electronica with the urgency of a power pop trio. Quiet Company has already gained national recognition by performing at Austin City Limits Festival and on late night talk shows, and K. Phillips (pictured, backed by his Concho Pearls, including Little Brave on bass) is an above-average singer-songwriter who takes Americana to an edgier plane. $10-$15, 8pm, Sam’s Burger Joint, 330 E Grayson, (210) 223-2830, samsburgerjoint.com.
