The matte muted colors. The clean, direct dialogue. The perfect symmetry. The impeccably stylized sets and costumes. The trailer for Texan Wes Anderson's latest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, has all the distinct markings of a Wes Anderson film. Guys, Wes Anderson has gone full Wes Anderson.
A theft and murder mystery tale that follows quirky hotel concierge Gustave H and his bell boy sidekick Zero Moustafa, The Grand Budapest Hotel will hit theaters March 7 of next year. Set in between World Wars in Europe, the story is portrayed by Anderson standbys and newcomers alike: Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Owen Wilson.
The official poster also does not disappoint, with its immaculate diorama-like setting and pretty pastels. One thing to note though, is the continued absence of Anderson's beloved Futura font. It seems the director has a new standby, Archer. Take note, design nerds.
