Is that a remote in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Trust me, you won’t want to change the channel on these ladies. Stars and Garters, San Antonio’s longest-running burlesque troupe, will be paying homage to television this Saturday, September 20 at 8:00 pm. The show, which has been accurately dubbed Tease-o-Vision, will run for one night only at Josephine Theater, and will include sexy reimaginings of TV gold, past and present.
Stars and Garters hasn’t given the slightest hint as to what television shows the troupe will parody in their upcoming show, and I find it both exciting and frustrating that the performers are leaving us guessing until Saturday night. I’m holding out for “fiery redhead” Pystol Whips stomping some grapes or whining à la Lucy Ricardo, supported by Foxxy Blue Orchid as her Ricky. Or Miss Suki Jones portraying True Blood’s Sookie Stackhouse. Also, a scene from American Horror Story would be more than great (Jessica Lange, I can’t even). The scandalous TV possibilities are endless!
General Admission to Tease-o-Vision is $17, but for just $8 more you can get reserved VIP seating, complimentary beer, and you can take part in a meet and greet with Stars and Garter’s all-star cast after the show. Tickets are on sale now, so get yours and go watch Stars and Garters give a whole new meaning to the “boob tube.”
