Applications are being accepted for the next round of Artist Foundation of San Antonio Awards through November 8. Meant to "recognize artistic achievement, dedication to an artistic discipline and the potential for further professional development," the awards are given to proposed projects within categories such as literary arts, visual arts, media arts, multi-disciplinary and performing arts.

Give or take 10 $5,000 awards will be awarded by the foundation. The Robert L.B. Tobin Grand Prize for Artists Excellence, a $7,500 award, will draw from the pool of individual award winners and be selected by the foundation's board of directors. Previous awardees include photographer Scott Martin, aerial artist Julia Langenberg of Aerial Horizon, and Zach Dorn, responsible for the toy-puppet theater Miniature Curiosa.

The application can only be filled out online, so get to it by visiting the artistfound.org. Applications will be judged by December with first award payments sent in January 2016. The last day to open an application will be November 8, and the deadline to submit is 11:59 p.m. on November 10.
