SA Native's Book Brings a Contemporary Take to Traditional Tales

Whether it's the Donkey Lady or Lechuza, San Antonio native Jessica J. Herrera has it covered in her new book about urban legends and traditional San Antonio-based tejano horror stories.

In 10 chapters, Herrera covers all the stories that populate Bexar County folklore, but with a twist. Herrera says while writing about the traditional stories, she also offers a contemporary take on the legends.

"Welcome to San Antonio one of the most haunted cities in America. Beyond the luxury hotels, monuments, and tourist shops there is a rich dark realm filled with chapters of haunted history," Herrera writes in the forward. "What would you do if you knew just exactly how haunted your city truly was?"

The book, Traditional Tales of Tejano Terror, San Antonio Urban Legends Then and Now, is available on Amazon.
