Update 5:06 p.m.: S.A.Y. Om, San Antonio’s First Yoga Festival, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Travis Park.
The City of San Antonio partnered with Mobile Om to bring Alamo City yoga enthusiasts S.A.Y. Om, the city's first yoga festival.
The yogi-centric celebration is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Travis Park (301 E. Travis), and is free and open to the public with activities for the whole family, organizers say.
“We are excited to partner with Mobile Om to bring the FIRST Yoga Festival in downtown San Antonio,” John Jacks, interim director of the Center City Development and Operations Department, says in a press release. “Bring the entire family to Travis Park to relax and enjoy world-class yoga demonstrations from local studios and more.”
An OmPowered Community Flow yoga class with Mobile Om's Cassandra Fauss kicks the festival off, followed by music, food trucks, hair braiding, massages, activities for the kids, henna tattoos and body paint, and giveaways and demonstrations from San Antonio yoga studies like The Synergy Studio, AC Power Yoga, Integrative Healing Institute and Union Flow Yoga.
Leave the festival relaxed and refreshed with a 30-minute yin yoga and meditation session to close out the inaugural festival.
Organizers say parking is available at the St Mary's Street Garage, and urge festival-goers to pay attention to social media
in case of inclement weather. If the event is rained out, it will be rescheduled for Saturday, November 14.
