Johnny Depp returns as Capt. Jack Sparrow for the fifth episode of the Pirate tale
Originally scheduled for release on May 26, 2017, the eighth installation of George Lucas' breadwinner-forever has been pushed back and will now be released on December 15, 2017.
The move follows the extraordinary success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has officially become the highest-grossing domestic film of all time as well as having the largest domestic and global debuts of all time.
Fortunately for Disney fans, the push back of Star Wars means that the fifth installment of the Johnny Depp-as-Keith-Richards swashbucklin' film (you know I had to say "swash-buckling" at least once) will be pushed forward from July 7, 2017 to May 26, 2017.
Mark your calendars droid-lovers, save the date sailor-swooners, 2017 promises to be a huge year for blockbusters.
