On Monday afternoon, Sala Diaz, an exhibition space for contemporary art, released a photo on Facebook of fire damage at Casa Chuck, a residency program of the art space.

According the the social media post, Sala Diaz is still waiting for a full assessment of the damages, however, firefighters were, thankfully, able to save the home's art collection.

Casa Chuck, which was created in honor of artist Chuck Ramirez, who passed passed away in 2010, was initiated in 2011 and is dedicated to preserving Ramirez's work, as well as providing a month-long residency for curators, writers, critics and creatives of varied pursuits.

In the spirit of the Big Give S.A., a period of 24 hours dedicated to supporting local nonprofits through donations, members of the San Antonio arts community have asked for support while repairs are made to the honorary art space.
