Bexar County Sheriff Deputies Won't Face Charges for Killing Gilbert Flores


Two Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies who shot and killed a man who appeared to be surrendering in late August won't face charges, authorities announced.

The Bexar County District Attorney's Office announced in a press release that deputies Greg Vasquez and Robert Sanchez won't face charges for shooting Gilbert Flores on the 24400 block of Walnut Pass on August 28.

The case gained national attention after video of the shooting was published by KSAT-TV. Authorities say another video exists, but they have refused to release it to the public.

A DA press release notes that all videos were used as evidence during grand jury proceedings, and that an requests for videos must be filed as public information requests.

Flores' family has sued.
