The Tuaca Lemon Drop will leave you wanting more. (Dustin Dooling)
As the annual Blue Norther settles on the horizon, San Antonians begin to grapple with the idea that, maybe winter isn’t so bad. Minus the sporadic drop in temp, we are set begin our spring to summer incubation. The layers come off, in more ways than one, and we christen the new season with beer-fueled trips to the river and any other body of water in floating distance.
It’s time to shed the warmth and insulation in favor of sweet, light anecdotes. With spring and summer in mind, this week’s shot, the Tuaca Lemon Drop, is a candied, silky smooth cannonball into the liquor cabinet.
It starts sweet, and finishes with a little bitterness and a yearning for more—much like your high school spring fling. So, start something new this week while shedding the old.
1 ounce Tuaca Citrus Liquer
¼ ounce Triple Sec
½ ounce sugar
½ ounce sweet and sour mix
Add all ingredients to a shaker, over ice, and shake vigorously. Strain into a double shot glass or rocks glass.
