Tickets for SA Current Flavor 2014 are basically sold out. There’s only a handful of tickets available and two ways to get tickets before the foodie showdown commences.
Watch Fox News First on Thursday, March 20 to see one of our Culinary showdown chefs, Stefan Bowers of Feast (1024 S Alamo) perform a live cooking demo and SA Current’s own Burgundy Woods will talk about the event. Also catch Burgundy Woods, Jason Dady and Shelly Miles talk about SA Current Flavor with a cooking demo on SA Living Tuesday, March 25.
SA Current Flavor is bringing the best in San Antonio cuisine with a Whole Foods Culinary Showdown featuring local chefs Jason Dady of Jason Dady Restaurants, Jesse Perez of Arcade Midtown Kitchen, Stefan Bowers of Feast, Steve McHugh of Cured.
The chefs will be paired with local personalities Randy Beamer and Shelly Miles of WOAI, Marycarmen López of Univision and Nina Duran of La Prensa de San Antonio to create an inspiring dish with two surprise ingredients. The winning team will be given the title of the ultimate San Antonio Flavor culinary team.
In attendance will be 20 local restaurants offering tastings from their menus. Here's a quick snap of the lineup:
Umai Mi (555 W Bitters)
“If the duck is dangerously good, the jungle curry with eel and Japanese eggplant is utterly mind-blowing, the ultimate umami experience, at once mellow and challenging.”
Mediterranean Turkish Grill (8507 McCullough)
"The lamb shank arrived wrapped in sliced eggplant, and covered with a tomato-based sauce. The meat was tender and moist, falling off the bone with the slightest touch of the fork — succulent, just right."
