Booze News: Kentucky Derby at Brooklynite, Flat Creek Wine Dinner and Beer Week

The Brooklynite (516 Brooklyn) is celebrating the Kentucky Derby here in SA with a Kentucky Derby party Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. Participants must wear Derby attire so large hats are encouraged. Special $5 derby cocktails will be available while you watch the Derby on The Brooklynite’s screens.

Flat Creek Estate Winery and Vineyard (24912 Singelton) is having their second Saturday wine dinner on Saturday, May 3 at 7 p.m. The four-course dinner includes a triple amuse bouche, red deer scallopini, braised duroc pork shank and hibiscus gelato all paired with wines. The dinner is $75 per person and $70 for wine club members.

It’s almost May and San Antonio Beer Week is getting closer. Starting Saturday, May 10   a celebration of good beer begins through Saturday, May 18. Ranger Creek, New Braunfels Brewing Company, BS Brewing, Blue Star Brewing, GS1221, The Friendly Spot, Alamo Beer, Stella Public House, The Hangar Tavern, The Grapvine, The Granary ‘Cue and Brew, Copa Wine Bar, 5 Stones Artisan Brewery, Freetail Brewing and more will all participate in this brew-tastic event. Pub crawls, tastings and plenty of sips are to be had at the Beer Week events.
