There's a reason we named Fernet Brancas as our best specialty shot in this April's Best of San Antonio issue. This shit is delicious. I recently celebrated an afternoon off with a shot of the Italian herbal liqueur at Barbaro.
While I may have sampled Fernet in a slew of cocktails, I had never handled it solo. It's an eye-opening, nasal passage-clearing and oddly reinvigorating experience every cocktail-hound should have. Learn from my mistakes and try a shot of Fernet this weekend.
