I’m not single, but even I’m over the lovey-dovey dinners we’ve been sharing over the last few weeks. If you somehow haven’t got your reservation on lock, then you SO can do a lot better. Here are the last remaining Valentine’s Day events we could scrounge up to help you get avoid a possibly getting dumped.

Take your boo to the Witte Museum (3801 Broadway, 357-1910) for a special Salud! Culinary Nights on Wednesday, February 11, at 6:30-8:30 p.m. While enjoying inspired and delicious dishes, Dr. Bryan Bayles, curator of anthropology and health, will discuss the history of chocolate, its significance throughout a variety of cultures and even a few of its health benefits. The evening will begin with cocktails on the rooftop with David Naylor from Park Social and bites via Geronimo Lope of NAO, Nadia Casaperalta with Hot Joy, Luis Colon of Folc and master chocolatier, Freddy Covo. The tasty experience, $50 for non-Witte members, is for guests 21 and older and includes a souvenir wine glass.

Or you can get your act together and take your sweetheart out to Las Canarias (112 College, 518-1063), which will offer a four-course tasting menu available Thursday through Saturday for $75 per person. Sister restaurant Ostra (212 W Crockett, 396-5817) will serve up a V-Day menu, $45 from noon to 5 p.m. and a $65 dinner after 5 p.m., with optional wine pairings.

Lastly, if you’re in the mood to renew your vows over craft beer, Das Lokal (180 W Mill, New Braunfels, (830) 626-2739), will host two ordained ministers from 4 to 7 p.m. to help make your day extra official. The vow renewal, $20 per couple, includes glassware via New Braunfels Brewing Company, two Kissing Valentino beers and two cupcakes via 2Tarts Bakery.

If February was the month of love, then March will bring us back to food and booze events everyone can enjoy. The sixth annual Corona Paella Challenge, hosted by Johnny Hernandez, will return to the Pearl on Sunday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Prices have gone up this year, with presale tickets at $65 and door sales at $75. Visit paellachallenge.com for more details. The San Antonio River Foundation’s RiverTini Pour-Off fundraiser and cocktail competition will return with 15 competitors along with food via the city’s favorite eateries. Tickets, found at rivertini.com, start at $65 for general admission and $100 for VIP, which includes a special “Party on the Barge” river shuttle from Pearl to the Wyndham Garden Riverwalk.
