Free ice cream is here!
Ben & Jerry’s has finally brought the “Texas Churned” tour to the Alamo City. From now until August 14, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream trucks will be giving out free samples of their two new Texas flavors.
“How does Ancho Peach Ice Cream with Peaches and a Bar-B-Que Caramel Swirl sound? Or are you more of a smooth, old-school southerner who’d be into Buttery Bourbon Ice Cream with Pecans, Shortbread Cookie Pieces and a Whiskey Caramel Swirl?” One of those flavors, after a summer sampling throughout Texas, will be selected as a special Texas only flavor which Ben & Jerry’s will make available in pints later this year, Ben & Jerry’s announced in a press release.
To kick-off the festivities in San Antonio, the Texas Tour will be dishing out free scoops of ice cream, with alcohol pour-overs for those of age, at Stella Public House & Halcyon from 7 to 10 pm on Friday, July 24.
Along with the free ice cream, there will be live music, free appetizers and pizza. Oh, don’t worry. If you miss their lip-smacking event on Friday, the free scoops will also be available Saturday, July 25 from 12 to 11 pm at the Food Truck Throwdown at the Boardwalk on Bulverdere.
“It’s not for the faint of heart. But this is Texas, where subtlety is the only thing that ain’t big,” the company said in a press release.
After these events, fans must tweet @BenJerrysTexas scoop truck to request a visit. To vote on your favorite flavor or for more information visit their site benjerry.com/flavors/texas-truck-tour
