Robbie Nowlin Takes Over Rosella Starting July 26 For Pop-In Plates

For take two of its Pop-In Plates dinner series, Rosella Coffee Co. is welcoming guest Chef Robbie Nowlin into the kitchen. Nowlin, formally of The French Laundry, The Lodge and most recently Citrus at Hotel Valencia, will be serving his exclusive dinner menu at the downtown coffee house starting Sunday, July 26 through Saturday, August 8. 

Starting at 4 p.m., Rosella will offer plates such as pork belly on foie gras steam buns, ahi tuna tartare, heirloom tomato salad with cows milk burrata, and, for dessert, caramelized white chocolate custard. 

Rosella will also be selling $6 glasses with proceeds going to San Antonio's Artists Foundation. 

"My 4-year-old son Keller and I bought a pair of sunglasses for $6 bucks from the dollar store one day before we went and fed the baby ducks last summer (it was super bright outside). Every time I have my son, he asks for both of us to wear them. Funny thing is it's not me trying to be hipster at all. It's for my son. I take pics in them on purpose so he can see them and smile while he is with his mom," said Nowlin about his now signature lenses.
