Get hungry, because San Antonio is getting some top-notch dinner events and deals the following Thursdays.

In honor of National Filet Mignon Day on Thursday, August 13, Morton's the Steakhouse (300 E. Crockett St., 228-0700) is serving petite filet mignon sandwiches for $1 all day in the bar area from 5 to 10 p.m. Take advantage Thursday, or wait another year for this deal.

Over at  Lüke San Antonio (125 E. Houston St., 210-227-5853), the continuation of its Visiting Chef Dinner Series is set for Thursday, August 20 at 7 p.m., with chef Phil Mariano of New Orleans' Domenica. Chef Mariano is collaborating with Lüke's John Russ to present a six-course Italian feast with dishes like salumi and cheese, octopus carpaccio and crispy sweetbreads. The dinner ($100 per person) is reserved to 80 guests, so reserve in advance.

Finally on Thursday, August 27, Azuca Nuevo Latin Restaurant (713 S. Alamo St., 210-225-5550) is hosting a one-night culinary tour of Latin America and rum cocktail pairings. The seven-course meal ($65 per person) will showcase inspired cuisine from Guatamala, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Rum and rum cocktails from familiar plate regions will also be served such as as Zacapa, Flor de Caña, Pompero and Medellin.
