The first round of pop-up for a purpose will feature Modern Asian fare.
Modern Asian bites will take over the now defunct China Garden Blanco location (14355 N. Blanco Road, 210-444-9495). But don't get too used to it — the Empress: Pop-up for a Purpose
will only be featured for 60 days starting October 1.
Chef Brian West (of Smoke
) will helm the pop-up through November with 10 percent of the gross sales benefiting several charities around town including Culinaria San Antonio, C.A.R.E. and The Salvation Army Food Pantry.
Empress' menu — broken down into Dim Sum, Bowls, Chef's Menu, For The Table and Kimchi and Namul — looks interesting so far. Prices hover at $2 for namul (Korean veggies), $8-$9 for dim sum, $10 for bowls, $5-$5 for sides and $16-$18 for Chef's Menu items.
The pop-up will open 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
