There's no big pitch here. We're sharing lunchtime deals and steals in and around San Antonio. It's more cash in your wallet, and hopefully a tiny food baby to keep you going through the work day.

I'm a sucker for interactive foods. And when they're freshly made from start to finish, it makes my food-loving heart pitter-patter. That's the feeling I get when I visit Ro-Ho Pork Bread (623 Urban Loop, 210-800-3487) that sits inside the legendary Sanitary Tortilla factory.

Operated by St. Philips culinary program grad and Guadalajara, Mexico native Jorge Rojo, Ro-Ho has four items on the menu (tacos dorados, chila killers and chila killers with pork), but the star of the show is the torta ahogada. At $7, you can add a giant serving of horchata and get a solid lunch for just under $10 buckaroos.

Part of the reason this place is so unique is that it focuses on flavors instead of, well, just about anything else. If you have a chance to sit at the counter, do so and watch Rojo en su mero mole – er salsa — as he prepares each order himself. Hop on one of the stools and dig in to your torta — a house-made birote stuffed with well-seasoned pork and doused in a light tomato sauce. Add heat sparingly with chef Rojo's chile de arbol salsa. You'll want to add a layer of napkins between you and the sando, but it'll be oh-so-worth it. Trust me.

Ro-Ho Pork & Bread is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
