Vegans will have more food options on the city's Northeast Side starting July 17, as Munch On and Beyond
opens at 13469 Wetmore Road.
Led by Chris Sauve of Munch On
, which provides gluten-free and plant-based snacks such as tofu jerky and stuffed dates, Munch On and Beyond or MOAB will also feature baked goods by Kaz Sephton, president of the San Antonio Vegan Society, tamales and paletas by Fred-Anthony Garza of Viva Vegeria, and American fare by Michael Evans. Sephton will also head a the Golden Horn of Plenty, a resale shop, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit local dog rescue groups.
The co-op is busy building out a small kitchen for all to operate out of based on a rotating schedule. Munch On and Beyond will open noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 and regular business hours will run Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
