It’s no secret that San Antonio is severely lacking when it comes to our late night food scene. While we all have a special appreciation for "stripper tacos" and Whataburger, we desperately need a new place to embarrass ourselves after 11 p.m. Cue Botika.
The Pearl’s newest darling, Botika, has only been open a few weeks but has stolen the heart of many and filled the Peruvian-Japanese hole in our lives we didn’t know we had. You can chow down on chef Geronimo Lopez's unique bites late into the night on Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. you can choose from food specials including their epic steamed buns, duck and potato empanadas, pork gyozas and a variety of sushi rolls. Plus until midnight you can grab your sushi to-go.
Major step up from that usual bean and cheese taco if you ask me…
This is late night, and this is the weekend, so you better believe Botika isn’t skimping on the drinks. In addition to $5 beer and $6 wine, enjoy $7 cocktails including the refreshing AF cucumber lemon drop and lychee daiquiri and the über strong overholt yuzu bramble. Whatever your elixir of choice, Botika has something for you.
The vibe at Botika is ideal for late night. The space barely resembles that of its former tenant, Arcade. Gone are the stark surfaces and concrete everything. In their place are bright colors, warms fabrics, unique artwork, fun lighting, a shiny motorcycle (don’t touch), and more tassels than you could ever imagine filling the room. Together they create a restaurant with an energy that is unlike any other space in the Pearl complex, and an environment perfect for late night fun.
Now Botika is only beginning to stretch its late night legs, so keep an eye out for updates and new additions in the next few weeks.
