Chef Jeff Balfour of Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery, will spread the gospel of good SA food with a trip to Houston as guest chef at Fluff Bake Bar
The chef-owner of Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery
will visit with lauded pastry chef Rebecca Mason, also known as the Sugar Fairy for the Saturday Morning Bake Sale. And the menu looks intense: Houstonians will be treated to fried chicken and praline crepes with SoCo steeped pecans and Crystal hot butter; sweet and sour apple Southern handpies; Fredericksburg peach, Crystal and smoked cheese cookies; pineapple and cornbread pudding with black rum; and a SA pan dulce breakfast sandwich by JC Rodriguez (of pan dulce burger fame) with house sausage, charred jalapeño eggs, and pimento beer cheese.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. at Fluff Bake Bar (314 Gray St.).
