Taquerias are plenty in San Antonio, but those serving quality carnitas aren't as ubiquitous as we'd like. Enter Taqueria Lonja.
's nighttime counterpart as of last week, Taqueria Lonja offers those same great carnitas the shop is known for come dinnertime. And they give pork a break with the addition of bistek, tripas and suadero (read: a cut between the belly and the leg of a cow). Served on corn tortillas (not made in-house like the daytime operations, but you can't have it all), the tacos are hefty and only $2 a pop.
Other menu items include quesadillas, cheesy costras with crispy bits of carnitas.
Taqueria Lonja will open 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
