It's the day all of San Antonio has been waiting for since we announced the city's inaugural fideo festival back in September.

It may not be chilly outside, but that shouldn't stop you from devouring samples of the tomato-y sopa at this hybrid festival and cook-off. Scheduled to take place outside of 410 Sportsbar, the Mexican noodle-inspired event will celebrate the puro San Antonio staple that we all grew up on.

You can still get your tickets at the gate, so be sure to get there early to get some samples and cast your vote for the best dish. Judging takes place at 3 pm and the winner will be announced at 5 pm.

If you can't make it in time, the event will keep on going with music and dance performances until 8 pm.

$4 (adults), $2 (children), 11 am-8 pm, 410 Sportsbar, 9607 Southton Rd., (210) 600-6979,
