There will be more reasons to get to The Point Park & Eats
later this spring when owners Denise Aguirre and Noel Cisneros open The Point Coffee House.
The interior of the The Point is in the process of being remodeled into a coffee bar with cafe-style seating. According to Aguirre, who shared the news via Instagram, the shop will be partnered exclusively with Quantum Roasters, owned and roasted by Fidel Moreno, an AP Physics instructor at Clark High School and adjunct professor at Northwest Vista.
The space, Aguirre said, will go on to feature baked goods from the Bagel Factory, Quantum's beans and merchandise, and other goods from local vendors usually found at The Point's monthly marker's market. A bottle shop is also in the works for the space.
The Point Coffeehouse will initially serve drip coffee with plans for an extended espresso menu in the future. Eventually, Moreno will bring his roaster to the facility.
"It's in the garage now, and it's getting a little cramped," Moreno said. The unlikely roaster first learned how to fire up coffee beans from one of his high school students using a one-pound tabletop roaster. Nowadays, his industrial roaster has helped him increase production to five pounds every 15 minutes.
"The kitchen used to be a complete mess and I somehow got my wife on board," Moreno said.
