New Fast Casual Pizza Spot Offering Free Pies to First 100 Customers

It's those three little words: fast casual pizza. The Huebner and I-1o area gained a new pizza joint six weeks ago with the opening of Pizza Roto, the third location of this Ohio-based company and its first franchise.

Opened by Tracy Johnson, wife Rachel Johnson and business partner Stephen Webb, Pizza Roto will celebrate its grand opening this week with two events. The first will be Wednesday, March 7 with a ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m., followed by free pizza for the first 100 guests, free pizza or salad with drink for first responders (from San Antonio, Bexar County, other local, state and federal law enforcement as well as fire department members), and drawings for free pizza for a year throughout the day. The restaurant will also donate 20 percent of the day's proceeds to the 100 Club of San Antonio.

On Saturday, March 10 the restaurant will offer free pizza to the first 100 guests, more drawings for free pizza for a year, a game truck from noon to 4 p.m. and live broadcasting from KJ97.

Pizza Roto features 11-inch pies for $8.49 with choice of up to three meat toppings and unlimited veggies (more than 30 to choose from), as well as sauces and drizzles to help customize a slice. Five beers are available on draft along with sangria and wine-based margaritas (designed by Johnson himself).
