Cannabidiol, if you're not on it yet, you soon could be.
The cannabis sativa product, which is usually offered sans THC, is legal in Texas and stores offering various strengths of the concentrated oils are popping up across the city.
And now, CBD is coming to a brunch near you.
Folklores South Side Eatery,
which is slated for a fall opening, will host a CBD brunch on September 15 at 1 p.m.
The event, co-hosted with Lady Grace, a healing center specializing in the distribution of CBD, will feature a family-style menu with dishes such as a chicken and waffle in a cone, creamed street corn, watermelon and apple salad, and Brussels sprouts and pecans, along with a apple cider and CBD edibles. The menu will be prepared by chef-owner Tatu Herrera, formerly with the Grand Hyatt.
Lady Grace, founded by Emilie Herrera, Lucy Salinas and Gilda Rodriguez, is located next to Folklores at 5007 S. Flores St. and the trio is hoping to share the benefits of CBD — ranging from pain and anxiety relief to treatment of epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and nerve pain
— throughout the area.
