Like getting boozy while shopping? Well, you may want to head over to The Shops at La Cantera.
First it was dogs, now it's alcohol. A recently-announced policy from the shopping center will allow visitors to drink alcoholic beverages as they shop. The policy has technically been in effect since the summer, but senior general manager Brian Schroeder said shoppers will want to visit with the recent opening of Tiny Cantina.
Shoppers can stop by the cantina or at Luciano, where you'll be able to purchase beer and wine that will be poured in plastic cups.
"They can take the cup of beer and wine throughout the property while they shop," Schroeder told KSAT
. "It's just another way to make sure people can have a great experience while they are here."
He warned that select shops may not allow drinks in, but that majority of the store will welcome those who want to get a buzz going.
If drinking and shopping sounds like a bad idea, there are precautions being taken. The policy is authorized by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and there is be 24-hour security of the property to make sure there aren't any violations of the policy.
Those who wish to walk around with their drinks will also be required to wear a wristband that helps security check who's been carded.
Maybe you should stay away from Luciano and Tiny Cantina if you're a lightweight. Who knows what kind of shenanigans you'll get into with a few drinks in you.
