Before opening Chisme, chef Mara Serna was part of several lauded kitchens including The Monterey, and Houston's Goro & Gun and Foreign Correspondents. And almost as long ago, she brought a fideo pop-up to San Antonio named E'Chingon in 2014.
E'Chingon is back Mondays and Tuesdays at Chisme from 5 to 11 p.m. with $5 margaritas and $3 drafts, and a new menu of snacks, large plates and desserts by Jessica Philpot.
Menu items include snacks such as party queso, jalapeño popper queso fundido, Señor Chicken for the Fiesta fiends. Large plates include red or green pork pozole, smoked cochinita pibil, smoked brisket guisada with papas, fideo loco with carne seca and ghost egg, pulled chicken tacos, and crispy panela cheese tacos.
Sweets by Philpot include coconut and pineapple tres leches with guava mousse and dulce de leche cheesecake with caramel mousse and pastry crumbles.
Prices range from $6.50 to $16.50.
