CIA Bakery Cafe Pop-up Returns to the Pearl Next Week

The CIA Bakery Café reopens at the Pearl on Monday, January 28 to offer sweet and savory pastries, breakfast and lunch items. Located inside Savor, a new CIA restaurant staffed by culinary and pastry students, the cafe will open for weekday meals before closing for dinner service.

If, like me, you've missed the cafe's alfajores — a shortbread cookie filled with dulce de leche made throughout Latin America — you'll find them waiting with those and other classic pastries on display. Breakfast at the cafe will include a fresh nitro brew coffee and items like brioche French toast and pressed egg sandwiches with spinach, mushrooms, gruyere and prosciutto. The lunch menu will feature a variety of soup, salad and plate options including fried chicken Cubanos or potato gnocchi with mushroom ragu.

The bakery will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through April 11 for takeaway orders. Diners are invited to dine at the cafe between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
