Let's begin with …
All Things Local:
Earlier in the year while I became absolutely obsessed with two things — the classic clip of Mexican crooner Juan Gabriel falling down and Found magazine. I can occupy myself for hours on the site looking at doodles on napkins and "action lists" scribbled on crumbled up pieces of paper.
Site I came across today while compiling this list:
Faceyourpockets.com is in the same vein as Found magazine and PostSecret but a little less intrusive … kind of. The concept is to dump out everything from your pockets, place them on a scanner, then place your face on it — and scan. Images from all over the world are found on the site. Overtly pointless but still a work of art.
Site that'll be bookmarked for my tenure here at the Current:
When my friends and I first stepped into Loft 120-2 we felt as if we were sucked into a much cooler scene in which we didn't quite fit in but no one seemed to notice. As we walked around, examined the artwork on the walls, or chatted it up with tattoo artists, we felt part of a cool, hip new scene – that's ultimately what the Loft is about. Since becoming the site of events such as SET and the locale for photo shoots, it's become the place to gather and be seen. Check out the site for news on a New Year's party going down at the Loft.
