Indie-country songstress Caitlin Rose comes to Limelight supporting her painstakingly gorgeous third album The Stand In. Rose’s momentum is rising sharply on the merits of her beautiful voice and classic-meets-contemporary take on everything in the Americana spectrum – from blues and jazz to folk and country. Hers is a voice and a style that, in great part, hearken back to country icons like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and even Patsy Cline. Her clever, story-telling lyrics further Rose’s appeal. If the first warmth of spring has you thinking a tad bit deeper about life and love, this just might be the perfect show to accompany your ruminations. And if you feel like boot scootin’ — well, there should be plenty of that to go around, too. A match made in heaven, Rose is joined on this excellent bill by local folk dynamo Nicolette Good and AM country purist Daniel Romano. $8-$10, 9pm, Limelight, 2718 N St. Mary's, (210) 995-7229, thelimelightsa.com.
