The ever-smiling, subtle, and imaginative Joe Reyes (Buttercup, Lara & Reyes, Mitch Webb & The Swindles) is one of our best guitarists, songwriters and producers, and June will be a busy month for him: he'll take over from fellow Buttercup member Erik Sanden for a residency at the Liberty Bar (1111 S Alamo, 210/227-1187), every Tuesday of June from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. He'll perform originals and covers.

But there's more: on Thursday, June 6 (right after the Spurs' game), he'll play two very special sets with the Navairas (Emilio Jr. and Diego) at Jack's Bar (3030 Thousand Oaks, 210/494-2039): the complete Beatles For Sale album (first set) and Help! (second set).

Here's Reyes giving us a quick sneak peek that includes "Living Again" (an early original), Elliott Smith's "Everything Reminds Me Of Her," and the Beatles' "I'll Follow the Sun":
