"Go Spurs/ESpurs Go," Mariachi Style

Move over, King Kyle Lee: you're not the only Spurs fan with a song vying to become the team's 2013 Finals anthem. Here's the song San Antonio's own Mariachi Campanas de América came up with.

Campanas de América, arguably SA's finest mariachi, has a long history with the Spurs, having played at the games in previous championship years and, most recently, the National Anthem during this year's playoffs. One of those songs, "Mikaela," introduced the "Go Spurs Go!" in the beginning and it became very popular at games and Campanas parties.

"Last week we decided to record it as a cheer and do a video for the upcoming finals thinking that it would be a cool thing and maybe some of the Spurs fans would like it," violinist Anthony Medrano, who has been with the mariachi for 30 years, told the Current. "In a little over 24 hrs from being uploaded on YouTube it has close to 10,000 views and seems to have gone viral with the Spurs nation." Medrano is also the director of Mariachi USA at the Hollywood Bowl, the world's largest mariachi festival outside of Mexico.
