In the 17th annual Battle of the Bands hosted by Ernie Ball, over 100 bands were given the opportunity to play at the 2013 Vans Warped Tour. The San Antonio bands that will be playing at AT&T Center on August 3 are Not So Lucky, Missing In Alaska, Tera Ferna, and Hayden, Oh My. Go to the next page to know more about them.
Not So Lucky
If doing a cover of Taylor Swift's "Sparks Fly" doesn't earn Not So Lucky a reputation as a local pop-punk staple, I don't know what could. These guys have played in past Warped Tour festivals and have just released their Whatever EP in May.
Missing In Alaska
Taking cues from The Devil Wears Prada and A Day To Remember, Missing In Alaska likes juxtaposition. For every throat-wrenching scream there is a soaring chorus and every ear-splintering breakdown coaxed with a simple piano melody. Voices will give out and bodies will be thrashed at their Warped Tour appearance as they play songs off The Finalist, their debut EP.
First starting as a solo project, Tera Ferna was an acoustic act for Matt Charles' bittersweet and romantic love songs. Now a foursome with jazz, folk, rock, and soul elements, they're probably the cleanest-sounding band of the SA bill.
Hayden, Oh My
Just like other metal bands, Hayden, Oh My is extremely heavy with loud, pummeling, distorted guitar riffs. They've played at the All Stars Tour and Laredo's Urban Festival, and are ready to release their The Unworthy EP.
