The Evolution of Tegan and Sara: A Video Recap

by

T&S

In anticipation of Tegan and Sara’s visit to the Alamo city this Saturday at Sunset Station,  we’ve assembled five videos to get you ready. This isn't so much a "best of" but more of a chronicle of the twin’s evolution to current 'Heartthrob' status.

“Living Room” is one of the girls’ first videos from their second album If It Was You. It’s a very cool, simple, gritty rock and roll video. There is definitely heartthrob potential but more of an indie rock vibe going on here.

“Monday Monday Monday” takes the Canadian twins in a more artsy, creative direction where they play zoo keepers and we witness the rise and fall of Mush Mush the Marvelous Monkey. No heartthrob status here, unless you like zoo keepers picking up after monkeys.

In the video for “Alligator” off the Sainthood album, the sisters are already working on some synchronized dance moves in confetti snow, perhaps foreshadowing their longing desire to move more into the pop world.

“Call It Off,” from the Get Along DVD, features a live performance with some candid scenes of the girls getting in some R&R. It might just be the gorgeous cinematography of the lake shots but you can begin to see the heartthrobs breaking through in this video.

In the video for Heartthrob's synth-heavy single “Closer,” the sisters take a back seat and lose the self-deprecating ambiance in favor of a rousing house party, with kids playing spin-the-bottle, pillow fights and lots of dancing! Heartthrob status achieved!

Bonus video: T & S performing “Closer” with pop queen Taylor Swift in Los Angeles.
