In the glory days of MTV, when they actually played music videos and reported music news, kids learned about rising hip-hop talent on “Yo MTV Raps” after school. While many bemoan that MTV has long lost its network relevance to music, there's still some sort of commitment to emerging talent through programming like ‘The Freshman.’
To me what is still mind-blowing is the fact that this was my first attempt at video editing. With no experience and just my ideas, I crafted something that is considered "acceptable" on TV. My goal when I produced the song and video was to become the catalyst for Apollo’s career. I put hours into it picking and fine-tuning. Well, one year later I seem to have accomplished that goal.
