Snow Wite's Facebook page describes the act's artistic approach and marketing strategy in four words: Andreas Cary's Multimedia Assault. Though signed to Wormhole Records, Snow Wite's DIY-aesthetic and exploitation of social media to raise a cult fan base channels the artists of beloved Burger Records.
Candy Crush: the Glitter Pop of Snow Wite
With the belief that rock groups should create videos to accompany each and every song they release, Andreas Cary has spawed an eclectic mix of kaleidoscopic, sun-drenched music videos and comedic offerings. Here's a look at five favorites.
Perhaps the quintessential Snow Wite music video, this is among the first to launch his profile. Featuring iconic scenes such as Cary himself eating strawberries in a bathtub, impromptu suggestive dancing in front of a Trans-Am unbeknownst to its owner, and depictions of Cary's alter egos Jillian Mango and J.S. Rock, this video truly encapsulates the weirdness and carefree fun of the pop project.
"Frog Sitting On A Bench With Tupac"
Another fan favorite, this video pairs two well-known videos that have been bouncing around the Internet for years: the Tupac hologram rapping at Coachella in 2012 and footage of a frog quietly sitting on the edge of a bench. While the title practically gives away the entire video, it's worth seeing the way two totally unrelated clips complement each other under Andy Cary's singular creative eye.
"I Got It Bad"
This most recent video pairs a lovesick surf pop song with Game of Thrones
inspired scenes. A perfect companion to angsty cooing about love and neglect is the video's short storyline, featuring a King Joffrey lookalike who executes a rival for impending on his dream girl. HBO would be proud.
"California Tourism Song"
Every Los Angeles musician has to have one of these. Andy Cary's•pink hair faded to a more Ariel Pinkish hue, this video displays Snow Wite playing on the beach and frolicking in the water as if in an early-2000s Blink-182 video. This love anthem devoted to California features a diss to New York, attractive women frolicking in the sun with flowers and streamers, and singing about how all the kids are moving out West. It could be a very convincing piece of California propaganda if you didn't already know about LA traffic.
"Circle of Sosa"
One of Andy Cary's less viewed videos, this Lion King/Chief Keef mashup video is not to be missed. It bears the simple description "Chief Keef embraces his daughter Kay Kay and proclaims her king of the jungle." At only 56 seconds, no further elaboration is needed.
