Austin's Flesh Lights Much like their raunchy name suggests, Austin’s Flesh Lights penetrate the music scene with their mix of hold no punches garage punk. With an album called Muscle Pop and songs like “Free Drugs,” it's a known fact that they are no mere sex toy. “Our band’s name is now Taargus Taargus” is probably what flashed in brothers Mark and Adam Fleming’s heads while watching an episode of the popular and surrealistic Adult Swim comedy, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! The band’s style of dreamy, almost lo-fi indie rock is quite the opposite of the absurdist situational comedy. Boregore, in sunglinted, bleached denim non-action Asaf Borger, better known as EDM producer Borgore, may be best known for “Decisions,” a 2012 club-romper with all the hallmarks of an EDM hit: hedonistic lyrics, press-play dubstep transitions, vocals from Miley Cyrus, cake. The video for “Decisions,” a textbook mansion party in which Miley smears various ass-shaped cakes on Borgore’s face, helped boost the Israeli producer’s US visibility with 12 million YouTube hits. While Boregore’s style doesn’t vary too far from EDM’s standard equation, he raps in a blurry Israeli accent to help distinguish his act from similar producers. If you’re looking for a social setting to celebrate the life and works of the recently deceased Alexander Shulgin—a champion of psychoactive drugs and the scientist who first synthesized ecstasy—Club Rio’s dance floor may be the place to do it, given EDM’s infatuation with MDMA. $15, 9 pm, Club Rio, 13307-A San Pedro, (210) 403-2582club-rio.net https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQd5OEl1W-Q  Lil Boosie (Friday, June 13)

Lil Boosie showing off his own gear To drum up anticipation for his new album Touchdown 2 Cause Hell, a new clothing line and his record label Bad Azz Entertainment, Lil Boosie is touring the states and looking good while doing it. Fresh out of prison, the Baton Rouge rapper is bringing back dirty Southern rap with hits like “Zoom” and “Mind of a Maniac.” With Lil Webbie and King Kyle Lee. $40-$500, 7pm, San Antonio Events Center, 8111 Meadow Leaf, (210) 528-0434, saeventcenter.com —Shannon Sweet
The San Antonio Symphony's 75th Anniversary Concert feat. Joshua Bell (Saturday, June 14)

Joshua Bell and his $4 million dollar violin

It's a big year for Music Director Sebastian Lang-Lessing and the San Antonio Symphony. Not only will the symphony receive a brand new home upon the Tobin Center's opening in September, it's the 75th anniversary of the prestigious collective. To help celebrate, the symphony will be joined by violinist Joshua Bell. Playing a $4 million, 301-year-old violin, Bell won a Grammy in '93 and helped Washington Post columnist Gene Weingarten win a Pulitzer in 2008 when Bell disguised himself as a busker in the DC Metro and earned only $32.17 in a day's work. Saturday's program will include selections performed at the inaugural concert in June of 1939, including Ravel's iconic Bolero. $25 - $75, The Majestic Theatre, 224 E Houston, (210) 226-3333majesticempire.com

Sister Nancy (Saturday, June 14)

Dancehall legend Sister Nancy Sister Nancy’s ‘82 dancehall hit “Bam Bam” has become a sample staple in hip-hop, getting nods from Main Source, Madlib, Lauryn Hill, Pete Rock, Blackalicious and Wiz Khalifa. It’s no coincidence either —with Nancy’s hook-friendly melody and reverb saturation, “Bam Bam” is a no-brainer sample for a track’s background bed or a vicious patois hook. Of course, “Bam Bam” is only an introduction to Sister Nancy’s debut LP One, Two, a must have for any dancehall collection. $30, The Reggae Bar, 2016 Austin Hwy, (210) 772-9891reggaebar.ticketleap.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcaPu9JPenU
