In efforts to attract audiences from the under-30 demographic group, the Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio has established a Millennial Committee to help display the arts to a wider and more youthful audience.
COSA has acknowledged the importance of this younger age group to keeping community arts healthy and intends to secure them as vital support of the four-year-old orchestra. “COSA's approach is intended to empower up-and-coming leaders by engaging them in our efforts to impact millennials, as well as future generations, in intellectually, and culturally enhancing activities,” explains Millennial Committee chair Natalia Martinez.
At each monthly Millennial meeting, committee members will brainstorm tactics to make the arts more accessible to the younger crowd and encourage them to help support their local arts organizations. While only recently established, the Millennial Committee will begin work to make COSA's upcoming fall concert, An Iberian Epic, more accessible to Generation Y.
