One of two known pictures of blues legend Robert Johnson
On November 23, 1936, blues legend Robert Johnson holed up for three days in the Gunter Hotel in downtown SA, recording 16 works that would help define his legacy. Since then, blues has been an important part of San Antonio's musical heritage, in various and evolving forms.
In a gross act of injustice, we left the blues category out of the voting for the 2014 San Antonio Music Awards. To get our karma straight, we added blues as a category for the remainder of the poll.
Sound off here on your favorite blues act in SA, with voting open until August 31. While you're there, vote in the 30+ categories we have available; no deal with the devil required.
