'90s legends Helmet perform Betty in full on Saturday, October 3
The drop D outfit that split the difference between indie rock and metal, Helmet will visit San Antonio n Saturday, October 3. On this tour, the New York band will perform their 1994 album Betty in full, to the chagrin of all the Meantime and Strap It On fans out there. According to the venue's announcement, Page Hamilton and company will perform a second set, with the cherished singles of yore and, hopefully, the material from their impending 2015 album. Tickets go on sale Friday.
On the same evening, Oakland's Shannon and the Clams hit the venue (not sure if it's as an opener or in the smaller room). The Bay Area trio rocks tremolo renditions of '50s rock, dreaming of staccato licks and unrequited love.
