Jaime Gonzalez, manager of Hogwild Records, passed away from cancer on July 4 at the age of 43. One of the few real deal record stores in town, Gonzalez contributed a massive knowledge of heavy music, known in the store as the "metal librarian."

On Friday, July 10, services will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel (1281 Bandera). Visitations are from noon to 9 p.m. After the services, there will be a tribute to Jaime at Zombies Bar (4202 Thousand Oaks).

On their Facebook page, Hogwild posted a compelling memorial to their late friend: "At times of loss the tendency to reach for sad songs and memories seems almost automatic. But with Jaime, a man so full of joy for life, that seems not the right path. We just wanna blast some Kiss and watch Airplane! or a Godzilla flick. If we learned anything from Jaime it was: You must have as good a time as you can while you are here."
